Molding Machinery—Coking and Charring

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

To eliminate risks of damaging machinery or breaking down oil compounds, hot oil units are equipped with low-watt density heaters. These heaters are used to balance oil used in molding machinery to prevent the oil from “coking” or “charring.”

Measures taken such as the use of these heaters, resolve coking and charring issues. A vacuum pump is utilized to provide appropriate flow through molding machinery.

A vacuum pump is what moves heated resin through the mold. Instead of the conventional pressure process, hot oil units employ vacuum pumps instead, pulling materials through with pressure.

Molding Machinery— What Does Molding Machinery Do?

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

The extrusion machinery pulls raw material, like plastics or resin into configuration guides that create stock components. A hopper is at one end of the molding machinery where the resin is fed to the screw, ram or plunge. The opposite end where the resin is pushed holds the die that will shape the resin.

Essential Elements of Extruder Machines

•    Tubular barrel
•    Electrically heated
•    Revolving screw
•    Barrel with Internal Ram or Plunger
•    Die
Extrusion Molding Machinery—3 types of Extruders

Plastic Auxiliary Equipment—Hot Oil Unit Features

•    Factory Tested—Units are quality tested and performance checked in the factory prior to shipping. This alleviates any unforeseen product flaws or defects.

•    Easy to Operate—Plastic auxiliary equipment controls are designed for easy operation.

•    Welded Pipe construction—Flanged and welded pipe construction prevents oil leakage.

•    Space Saving—Use of multiple heaters minimizes the size of the hot oil unit while maintaining proper temperature controls.

•    Portable—Units can be transported and stored. Plastic auxiliary equipment is space saving and portable.

•    Safety Precautions—Effective and easy operation, diagnostic control panels, and start and stop switches.

Advantages to Vertical Injection Molding Machines

Space Saving—Vertical injection molding machinery covers half the space of horizontal machines used for the same functions.
Combined Component Molding—Vertical injection molding machines allow for combination insert or plastic-metal. This feature allows for more options and attachments.
Vertical Support—Gravity dislocation is eliminated due to the support of the durable vertical injection machine mold alignment.
Versatile—Vertical clamp units accommodate attachments.
Robotics Operation—Automatic operation is ideal when without the use of an attendant.
Extensive Selection—A wide range of clamp unit options make vertical molding machinery appealing.

Plastic Auxiliary Equipment—Plastics Granulators

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

It’s important to know which kinds of plastics are appropriate to use for plastic auxiliary equipment granulator shredding. Sorting recyclable plastic is an important part of the reclamation process.

Plastic Auxiliary Equipment Granulators—What Kind of Plastics can be Recycled?

  • PETE (Polyethylene terephthalate): soda bottles, plastic wrap. Identifier: 1
  • HDPE (High-density polyethylene): milk and juice bottles, detergent bottles. Identifier: 2
  • PVC (Polyvinyl chloride): clear packaging. Identifier: 3
  • LDPE (Low density polyethylene): garbage liners. Identifier: 4
  • PP (Polypropylene): oil funnels, battery casings. Identifier: 5
